Gettin' Birdy With Martha!
Citizen science at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology got national
exposure on the Martha Stewart Show October 17, when ornithologist David
Bonter was featured on the program. He talked about how anyone can be a
part of scientific studies that help clarify how bird populations may be
changing because of climate change, habitat loss, or other factors. In
the first segment the focus was on Project FeederWatch, one of a dozen
citizen science projects offered by the Lab of Ornithology. A second
segment of the show was devoted to bird feeding in general and the best
way to attract birds to your feeders.

Use the links below to watch the segments, which aired around the country and resulted in more than 1,000 new FeederWatchers!
Each member of the studio audience received free enrollment in
Project FeederWatch and gifts from Wild Birds Unlimited. You can join
too! Participating in Project FeederWatch is fun and easy--and it helps
scientists learn more about birds. To learn more or to sign up, visit the Project FeederWatch web site.
