Photographs by Duane Angles
My interest in photography began in 1974, while in the Air Force and stationed in Guam. I re-enlisted while I was there and used some of the bonus to buy my first 35mm film camera, a Pentax Spotmatic II.
I took a correspondence course from the School of Modern Photography and attended several workshops and seminars. For the next 5 or 6 years I dabbled in landscape, portrait and wedding photography. I also worked some as a freelance photographer during a 17-month stay in Avon Park, Florida. After returning from a tour in Turkey in 1982 my interested in photography waned.
Then last year, a friend rekindled my interest and I purchased a Pentax D, a Sigma 28-80mm lens, and 70-300mm lens. I have since sold the Pentax and purchased a Canon 20D, a Canon 75-300mm IS, a Sigma 50-500mm, a Sigma 180mm macro and a 50mm lens.
All of my free time is now spent taking nature and landscape photos. I have upgraded my photography gear with a Canon 30D, Canon 300mm f/2.8L, Canon 70-200mm f/4L, Canon 50mm f/1.8 and Sigma 12-24mm lenses.
