Cindy
Creighton is from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, on Canada's east coast.
She became interested in photography as a teenager when she acquired
her first point-and-shoot camera. Wanting to experiment and be more
creative with her photography, she obtained her first SLR camera when
she was in her early 20s. Nature photography was always her main
interest, but in the early days she did not have a lens long enough to
capture good images of wildlife. She took a photography course in her
early 30s and obtained a longer lens that brought her closer to
wildlife. When the digital era came about, Cindy took the big leap and
traded in all of her 35mm gear for a Nikon D70 digital SLR, coupled
with a Sigma 170-500mm lens. A couple of years prior to this, her
uncle, who was an avid birder, started taking her birding and invoked a
new passion in her. Now that she had the "optical reach" she had longed
for, her two passions, photography and birds, had merged into one.
