Featured Photos from Jeff Larsen
After more than 30 years as a photojournalist Jeff retired from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper in 2006. After a year layoff he decided to rededicate himself to photography and in March 2008 intensively began to pursue a long-time passion as a bird photographer. He currently has close to a thousand bird images in his online gallery and shoots at least twice a week from his Pacific Northwest home. During his last 5-years at the Seattle P-I Larsen also wrote and photographed a weekly regional travel column. Larsen's photos and words have been widely published in print and online over the past 30 years.
Equipment: Nikon D-3 (with 2 8GB CF cards) coupled to a Nikkor 200-400mm F4 (fixed) VR Zoom routinely coupled to a 1.4X. I mostly utilize a Manfrotto carbon-fiber monopod, carryover from my sports photography days, mostly for mobility and stability. My backup and light travel companion is a Nikon D-300 coupled to a Nikkor 80-400 VR Zoom.
