This interactive exhibit provides an easy-to-use glimpse into the expansive collection of sounds housed in the Macaulay Library. You can listen to different sounds, see what sounds our staff like best, and even test your ears in a fun quiz.
| The Natural Sounds Kiosk uses a touch-screen interface to explore the sounds stored in the the world-reknowned Macaulay Library. Kids and adults alike can browse through some of the most interesting sounds of life, from the staccato tapping of a treehopper to the haunting melody of the Musician Wren. A sound-guessing game also lets you test your wits while learning about the diversity of sound in the world around us. |
