AUTUMN 2005/VOLUME 19, NUMBER 4 Welcome, Gretchen Jesse!
Photo by Susan E. Spear/CLO Gretchen Jesse joined the Lab of Ornithology in August as director of Special Gifts, a new position at the Lab. Gretchen will be working with development director Scott Sutcliffe and the Lab's leadership in building and strengthening relationships between Lab members nationwide and the programs and staff at Sapsucker Woods. She will also help lead special events management and corporate and foundation projects. Originally from Geneva, New York, Gretchen received a master's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was a major gifts officer for the College of Fine and Applied Arts. She and her husband, a microbiologist and birder, are already devoted to the Lab's mission. They have four cats (all indoor, of course) and are very happy to be in New York.
