How a Special Gift Can Help

Lab members and friends generously provide most of our annual operating budget, but we also have a wish list for special projects. To sponsor a project or for more information, please contact Scott Sutcliffe at (607) 254-2424 or sas10@cornell.edu.

Sponsor a nocturnal flight call station at Sapsucker Woods to help us learn about the timing and routes of migration—$2,000 for the station; $4,500 for an intern

Provide a scholarship, including travel expenses and sound-recording equipment, for a Latin American student to attend the Macaulay Library’s Sound Recording Workshop and return home with new techniques for bird research and conservation—$3,500

Support a visiting Latin American intern who would like to learn modern techniques of biodiversity assessment and conservation—$4,500

Purchase a portable ultraviolet spectrophotometer, a device researchers need to measure the hue, color, and brightness of feathers, including in the UV spectrum—$5,000

Make it possible for us to produce and distribute educational kits for "Celebrate Urban Birds!" (See the Celebrate Urban Birds article in this issue of BirdScope)—$5,000
