Voices of Amazonian Birds: Birds of the Rain Forest of Southern Peru and Northern Bolivia

Vol. 2: Toucans (Ramphastidae) through Antbirds (Thamnophilidae)
by Thomas Schulenberg, Curtis Marantz, and Peter H. English

cd cover

The rain forests of the Amazon basin contain the most diverse bird faunas of any area on earth. This audio guide presents the vocalizations of 99 bird species found in the lowland rain forests of the western Amazon basin. The emphasis here is on birds of mature forest, although we have included the voices of a few species found in second-growth or forest edge that are more often heard than seen.

The geographic area covered by this disc is from southern Peru (departments of Ucayali, Cuzco, Madre de Dios, and Puno) into northern Bolivia (departments of Pando, La Paz, and Beni). The distribution of many of these species extends beyond this area and so the disc will prove useful in adjacent areas as well.

Companion guides "Voices of Amazonian Birds" Volumes one and three are available as well.
