Recordings and spectrograms of call notes, flight calls, and nocturnal flight calls.

For the past 7 years I have been recording bird calls from April thru November. The recordings are made during the night, beginning after sunset and ending before sunrise. Additionally, I have been recording the flight calls, call notes, and other vocalizations (i.e. songs) of birds that I am observing. Most recordings were made on my property in the Town of Caroline, Tompkins Co. New York. I try to match the recording made of observed birds with those I record with a nocturnal flight call detector. Additionally, I use the Bill Evans and Michael O'Brien CD "Flight Calls of Migratory Birds" (http://www.oldbird.org/).

This website contains some examples of these recording, along with (for some) spectrograms of their vocalizations. The spectrograms were made using Raven software, which was developed by the Bioacoustics Research Program at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (http://www.birds.cornell.edu/brp/Raven/Raven.html).
