23 September 2004 - Caroline, Tompkins Co. New York - description:Two examples of nocturnal flight calls recorded between 0543 and 0630 of Swainson's Thrush. The 2 spectrographs below are from 2 flight calls made almost simultaneously by 2 birds. The first spectrograph is that of the first vocalization, and the second spectrograph was made from the second vocalization. Recordings were made by positioning a parabolic reflector with microphone at the morning sky. Click on the spectrographs to hear the recordings.
