Observed flight calls
29 September 2004 - Caroline, Tompkins Co., New York - description:A single male was observed rather late in the season. The bird was giving its contact call and then flew from one tree to another.When flying the flight calls (below) were recorded. Note how the flight calls were given in pairs. This was true of the observed bird, and the recording of nocturnal flight calls made on 1 May 2006.

Nocturnal Flight Calls
Date: 21 May 2006. Location: Caroline Tompkins Co., New York. Description: Recorded using a nocturnal flight call detector at 0011. Although winds were out of the WNW, birds were moving. During this night I recorded American Redstart, Black-billed Cuckoo, Ovenbird, and several unidentified flight calls.
