Flight Calls of Yellow Warblers. Flight calls of observed birds followed by nocturnal flight calls believed to be of the same species.

Flight Calls Made by Observed Birds

19 July 2006. Time 0530. This recording was made using the nocturnal flight call detector. A Yellow Warbler was observed foraging near the detector early in the morning. The dectector was turned on and the recording was made. Note: the lower frequencies were filtered out due to excessive noise (primarily from a House Wren).

Nocturnal Flight Calls

Note: These recordings were made during the night through an automated flight call detector application. The identifications were made by similarities in both the sound and visual (spectrogram) similarities to observed birds.

31 July 2006 (time 0345). Location: Town of Caroline, Tompkins Co. New York.
Notes: Flight calls of Yellow Warblers were the most commonly recorded calls in July. Beginning around the middle of the month between 5 and 13 flight calls were recorded each night of recording.
