Meet the Staff
Jennifer Fee (formerly Schaus)
BirdSleuth Project Leader
I was hired in 2004 to develop and field test the BirdSleuth
curriculum, so I've been with BirdSleuth since its beginning. I take
pleasure and pride in sharing the BirdSleuth curriculum and citizen
science with teachers, particularly through professional development
workshops. Prior to joining the Lab, I worked at the Missouri Botanical
Garden administering the “Partners for Growing Discovery Units”
curriculum. I'm a graduate from the Biology programs at Truman State
University and Illinois State University (Behavior, Ecology, Evolution,
and Systematics program). I enjoy the outdoors-- especially camping,
biking, and hiking-- and I'm always ready to travel and discover a new
place!
Gabrielle Montanez
BirdSleuth Project Assistant
I joined the Education program in 2008 to assist with BirdSleuth. While an undergraduate, my studies focused primarily on biological anthropology, working on several human evolution and primatology research projects, and feature writing, serving as a teaching assistant
in freshman writing courses. In the summer of 2007, I interned with the
Research Division of National Geographic magazine, which
cemented my passion for public science education. I graduated from
Ithaca College in 2008 with a dual degree in Anthropology and Writing,
and was inducted to the Sigma Xi national research society in April
2008.
