Together, BirdSleuth and CamClickrs may provide the groundwork you need to have an authentic and fun science learning experience! This free, downloadable resource only scratches the surface of what BirdSleuth and CamClickrs have to offer your kids.

While citizen science itself is often a fun and rewarding experience, BirdSleuth has teamed up with CamClickrs to create an easy way for educators to begin using CamClickrs with student groups. The importance of their data creates a real-world connection for students of all ages; you'll find that even those children who don't traditionally excel in science will become motivated and engaged by the prospect of helping professional scientists study birds! In addition, amid growing concerns about the health of children and the stewardship of our environment, BirdSleuth and citizen science actively get children outside, observing and learning to appreciate nature.

Although CamClickrs is easy to use, many educators, especially those new to birds and birding, prefer extra support and guidance. This free resource will help you begin to teach proper data collection protocols to your children, so they can begin contributing to CamClickrs. Some of this provided content was borrowed from the BirdSleuth: Exploring Bird Behavior curriculum module.

Exploring Bird Behavior is a complete curriculum kit available for purchase from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. For those educators looking to go beyond simple data collection, Exploring Bird Behavior contains detailed lesson plans, student journal pages, and a resource guide to help teach bird behavior and ecology, animal intelligence, biodiversity, and the importance of conservation. It includes several educational tools, such as a set of BirdSleuth's student tools and posters, copies of BirdSleuth's student research journal Classroom BirdScope, and more!
