A New BirdSleuth Module for Homeschoolers

BirdSleuth proudly announces the release of its first-ever module created specifically for homeschool families and groups.

Welcome, BirdSleuther! We'd like to announce a brand new resource for teaching science at home through hands-on, engaging activities with a purpose! The Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s inquiry-based curriculum program BirdSleuth has released its first module designed entirely for homeschoolers. Our Science Investigator’s Kit for Homeschoolers will help you bring science alive for your family through the study of birds!

Your curriculum kit includes lesson plans, a student journal and resource pages, an interactive CD-Rom, “going further” activities designed to keep the learning going, online resources and support, AND participation in Project FeederWatch (PFW)! One of the Cornell Lab's biggest citizen science projects, PFW provides kids with the opportunity to collect data about the feeder birds they see in their own backyars and submit that data to Cornell. Kids enjoy the real-world impact their efforts have on the investigation of bird populations and migrations by professional scientists that is made possible by PFW data!

Through January 31, the Science Investigator's Kit for Homeschoolers will be specially priced at $79.95, $10 off the regular price of the kit ($89.95). The kit will engage kids in science activities for months, and participating in PFW can become a multi-year (or life-long) interest!
