Call for Student Submissions!

by Gabrielle Montanez last modified 2008-06-02 12:20

With the school year wrapping up, things in the classroom must be getting pretty hectic as families make plans for summer camp, vacation time, summer school, and more. One thing's for sure, though: we're getting ready to put together the next edition of Classroom BirdScope, and we need your student submissions! What sort of projects have your students worked on using BirdSleuth materials this year? What kinds of birds and behaviors did your classes observe? We want to know!

Both students and teachers can use our Online Form to submit written reports of independent student research conducted during the 2007/2008 school year. Be sure to read through our Submission Guidelines and edit your work to fit our format. We won't be able to consider any submissions that are lacking vital information, so make sure that all your graphs are properly labeled and your images are properly formatted, etc.

A special note to students: Always check with an adult before submitting any personal information – such as your name and where you live – through the Internet. It's a good idea to have an adult sit down with you and review your submission anyway, to make sure it's in line with our guidelines

Classroom BirdScope is published once a year, every September 1, but submissions that don't make it into the magazine are still eligible for publication in our twice-yearly online webzine BirdSleuth Reports. After we review your submission, we'll get in touch with you about the next step. Good luck, BirdSleuthers!
