BirdSleuth to hire a Project Assistant!

Lab of O

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep BirdSleuth running smoothly! The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is seeking a Program Assistant to help the Project Leader of BirdSleuth in all aspects of administering, developing, and servicing the project. BirdSleuth promotes science literacy by involving students in scientific research in their schoolyards and neighborhoods.

The assistant will help recruit new participants and support educators in successfully implementing the project, so extensive interaction with the public and participants by phone and email is required.  The assistant also serves as editor for the student research publications, so excellent organizational skills, experience with graphic design, particularly InDesign and Photoshop software, and database management experience would be useful. The assistant is accountable for the daily administrative aspects of the project, such as shipping kits and maintaining the participant databases.

The position is part-time, 30 hours per week; one-year term appointment with possibility of renewal based upon availability of funding.
