Florida Teacher Workshop

You’re invited to a one-day workshop that will deeply engage you in learning with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology!

The beautiful Circle Bar B Reserve in Lakeland, Florida will serve as the backdrop for this unique and fun workshop. The Reserve was named in the USA Today Travel Section as the place to visit in Florida for wildlife viewing!

Join K-12 Education Program Manager, Jennifer Fee, for hands-on activities and authentic inquiry experiences, both indoors and out! You'll learn about citizen science, outdoor teaching, bird diversity. Explore new ideas and gain skills that will help you conduct meaningful schoolyard inquiry and successful student investigations!

This BirdSleuth workshop offers teachers the opportunity to learn in a fun environment with friendly people, as well as network with other teachers. You’ll return to your classroom with renewed energy, ideas, and confidence!

Time: 8:00am-5:00pm

Place:  Polk County Nature Discovery Center at Circle B Bar Reserve (4399 Winter Lake Road, Lakeland, Fl 33803).

  • A certificate of completion.  
  • Optional continuing education credit (1 CEU) will be available from Cornell University  (information about this option will be provided during the workshop; participants who wish to receive the credit will need to write a brief implementation plan and pay a $10 fee).
