Installing QuickTime with QuickTime for Java Enabled

To enable Raven to open MP3 files and other audio formats that cannot be opened by the standard Raven installation, you must install QuickTime with QuickTime for Java enabled. The upcoming Raven releases, Raven Pro 2.0 and Raven Lite 2.0, will not depend on QuickTime.

NOTE: Raven can only access QuickTime functionality when Raven is run as a 32 bit application. Raven64 will not open MP3 files. If you'd like to download a 32-bit version of Raven Pro, please go to Raven Downloads. Note that Raven Lite is available as a 32 bit application.

Mac users only

OS X generally comes with QuickTime pre-installed. However, Raven installed in OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) or OS X 10.12 (Sierra) may not be able to open MP3 files or CD audio, because Oracle does not support a 32-bit JVM for these versions of OS X.

Windows users only

Apple no longer supports QuickTime for Windows. If you have QuickTime installed on your Windows computer, we recommend you uninstall it immediately. For more information see Apple Abruptly Pulls Plug On QuickTime for Windows.
