Postdoctoral Scholars

Postdoctoral scholars are an integral part of our program. Our postdocs have a high degree of freedom to lead and pursue innovative and ambitious research projects. We provide opportunities for internal and external collaborations, training in communication with public audiences, raising research funds through grants and philanthropy, and opportunities for augmenting teaching and mentoring skills. Our overarching goal for our postdocs is to leverage their strengths and our expertise to generate scientific outcomes of the highest caliber.

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology offers funding for postdoctoral scholars through the Rose Postdoctoral Fellowship which is described in detail here. However, postdocs are also funded through other avenues and we encourage interested candidates to contact our director Dr. Holger Klinck for more information.

One of the great aspects of being a postdoc at Cornell is the opportunity to network and collaborate with an exceptional cadre of scholars and scientists. Postdocs working in our lab often engage in cross-departmental projects within the Lab of Ornithology as well as the university in general.
