This is a beta version of Raven 1.4. This version has not been tested as thoroughly as the latest Raven release (version 1.3), and may therefore be more subject to various types of problems. Use this version at your own risk. The beta version is provided to give users early access to new features that will be available in the next release version. The Raven developers welcome your feedback about this version. Please visit the Raven 1.4 beta help forum at http://help.RavenSoundSoftware.com/ to discuss the beta with developers and other users, and to make support queries, feature requests, or bug reports. A similar warning will be displayed each time you launch Raven until the program is updated to the (non-beta) release version.
Existing Raven users may use Raven 1.4 with their existing licenses. New users may request a trial license for evaluation purposes by writing to raven_support@cornell.edu. See the What's New page for more information about the new features included in Raven 1.4.
What's in the download?
The Raven download is a demo version of the full Raven product. To enable all of the features of the downloaded Raven, you must upgrade your license from an existing Raven license. This is a free upgrade. If you already have Raven 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, or Raven Pro 1.3 installed, then once you install and launch Raven Pro 1.4, the upgrade should occur automatically.
How do I download Raven?
To download Raven Pro 1.4 Beta, you can download the entire package including software, examples, and documentation, or you can download just the software. Once you get to the appropriate download page, you can choose an installer based on the platform on which you intend to install Raven Pro (Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux).
The User's Manual for Raven Pro 1.4 Beta is identical to the one for Raven Pro 1.3. The updated user's manual will be available when Raven Pro 1.4 is released. In the meantime, please read the Raven Pro 1.4 What's New document and readme for more information on new features.
