Canary 1.2.4 Release Notes:


As of 1 October 2005, Canary is now available at no cost.  
The program and user's manual are available at http://www.birds.cornell.edu/brp/.  


BUG FIXES:

- Canary 1.2.4 fixes bugs that caused Canary 1.2.1 to crash under 
MacOS 8 when certain controls in the Record dialog box were touched.


NEW FEATURES:

The new features listed below are not documented in the Canary 1.2 User's Manual. 
They are described further in the document "New in Canary 1.2.4.pdf". To read this 
document, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free program that can be 
downloaded from the Adobe website:

- Sample rate conversion commands (Decimate and Interpolate) 
have been added to the Process menu. 

- A new Filter Options dialog gives you greater flexibility in specifying 
the type of filter to be applied to data.


KNOWN BUGS:

- With certain settings in the Filter Options dialog box, Canary may either
display a message saying that "the filter frequencies are out of range," 
or the program may crash when attempting to run a high-pass or low-pass filter.
