Sound Analysis Workshop Coming Up

The next Bioacoustics Research Program sound analysis workshop is coming up March 16-20, 2009 (Maximum class size: 10. Minimum class size: 4). Students receive a special discount. Read more about the fee structure for this session. (PDF)
The week-long course focuses on sound spectrogram analysis techniques and how they can be applied in biological research. Raven and XBAT, which are sound analysis software tools developed at BRP, will be used for instruction and analysis throughout the week.
The workshop provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas on your application with classmates and to develop new contacts with analysts and researchers in the Bioacoustics Research Program.
Topics:
• Basic principles: a practical view of spectrographic analysis
• Applications: techniques used in large-scale monitoring programs as well as detailed analysis of specific vocalizations
Each workshop is tailored to the interests and requirements of the participants, based upon answers to a questionnaire you’ll receive prior to arriving for the course.
