Raven Lite 1.0 for Windows requires a PC running the Microsoft Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP Home, or Windows XP Professional operating system with a processor running at 500 MHz or higher (1 GHz or higher recomended), and 256 MB of RAM. The required version 1.4.2 of Java is automatically installed with Raven Lite.

To enable Raven Lite to open MP3 files and other formats of audio files on Windows, you need to download and install a custom version of the QuickTime Player. To download and install  QuickTime,  proceed through the steps listed here. On Mac OS X, QuickTime should already be installed. If you already have QuickTime or iTunes installed on your computer, you can run the QuickTimeUpdater.exe program to update your QuickTime installation to add the necessary components that Raven Lite needs, especially "QuickTime for Java.

Raven Lite 1.0 for Mac OS X requires a Macintosh computer with at least 256 MB of RAM, running Mac OS X version 10.2 (Jaguar) or higher and Apple Java 1.4.1 or higher. We recommend Mac OS X version 10.3 (Panther) or higher because some customers running version 10.2 have had difficultly downloading Apple Java 1.4.x using software update. We recommend a 400 MHz G4 processor or faster for running Raven Lite.
