Queens Botanical Garden green roof

Activities included live raptor programs and fun bird walks to see migrating warblers passing through the Garden’s beautiful natural areas. Part of the tour included QBG’s new Visitor & Administration Building. This building is tracked for Platinum LEED™ certification and will feature, among other green technologies, a green roof. This green roof helps slow down stormwater and insulates the auditorium beneath but also serves as a model for creating habitat for birds and other beneficial organisms in urban environments.
