Robin Nest on Tire
Robin's nest by Jeff Mills

Oma Boyd writes:

"We have an abundance of robins each spring but this year they are building their nest on the tires of our vehicles.

This is the first time they have built nests on our tires. Today is the 9th day in a row they have done this."

If you wish to deter the Robins from nesting on your tires among other methods, you might want to try providing alternative nesting spots. You could install a nesting shelf and provide a source of mud nearby as Robins will use mud to build their nest. Here is a plan for one of these shelves: http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/wildlife/ndblinds/robin.htm

Alternatively an open nest box can be used (with one of the panels removed).
