134. Gene Harriman, Plymouth, MA

The National Monument to the Forefathers was erected between 1859 and 1889 here in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Monument was designed by Boston artist Hammatt Billings. At 81 feet tall it is the largest free standing granite monument in the United States. For years the Monument stood unmolested. The recent proliferation of Osprey here has resulted in a shortage of nesting real estate. This Osprey found the top of the Monument is a great place for a nest. I hope you enjoy this entry.
