188. Sharon Kate Grace, Canada

I have chosen to submit this photo because it demonstrates the bond between bird and man. We named the bird Pidge. He came as a wild bird to our home in Ontario, Canada in 2011. Pidge came alone, which I find to be very unusual for Rock Doves and Pigeons. He had and still has seemingly not one iota of fear of people, cars or other animals. He goes on walks with the dogs, and greets people when they arrive. Pidge is free to leave if and when he wants, but he chooses to stay. I am inspired by Pidge on a daily basis, as are others, to live a life free of judgment and filled with love. Such is the Tao of Pidge.
