We live on a nice, little pond in the Deep South and enjoy feeding flocks of Ducks just about year round. Did y'all know there is a substantial amount of evidence to indicate that it was probably a fiddler here in the Deep South that invented American square dance calling? Well, sure 'nuf, one day a pair of White-faced Whistling Ducks got caught practicing up for a low down hoedown! It just comes so naturally right here in south Louisiana that White-faced Whistling Ducks do some fancy ol' time square dance steppin'... aka “Close Encounters of the Bird Kind.” Crank up your imagination and listen for the square dance caller's voice booming out, "And here ya go," "Honor your partner!” "Honor your corner!" "All’a men right," "Now do-si-do." And hear those White-faced Whistling Ducks squealin' with delight!
