This interesting encounter took place across the lagoon from my back yard (in Bluffton, SC) – we saw a Great Blue Heron trying to dine on a snake for lunch – but the snake wouldn’t cooperate!  I believe the snake may have been a water moccasin – not exactly an easy prey for a heron! You can hear our cockatiel, Francis, making some commentary in the background along with mine as I filmed this from our kitchen window.
