Little Green Places
Fall 2008 Challenge/Contest
Participants sent us their photos, videos, and artwork of a Little Green Space that's good for birds. Maybe a brush pile, single tree, or potted plant. Maybe a place that provides shelter, food, or water. And what a variety of wonderful entries we received! Some gorgeous fully landscaped gardens, complete with water features...some minimalistic settings, some special places in parks, or drainage ditches (!)...we sent all entrants a Little Green Places for Birds poster, because everybody deserved recognition.

Many thanks to everyone who entered our second photo/video/art contest, which ended on October 31, 2008. Look over the entries, either 10 at a time, or the first 50 all together. Are you leader of a group or a teacher? Look through the entries with your participants and students...you will find no end of interesting topics of discussions about how birds survive and adapt to their surroundings. Keep up the great work observing and documenting the birds around you! You could hold your own local Little Green places for Birds contest, even though ours is over for now. Or enter our new Birds in Art/Art in Birds contest, running now through January 31, 2009.
