Exciting "Celebrate Urban Birds!" events in Kathmandu, Nepal

10 May 2007 – Urban bird painting competition among school students. Students of grade 4 to 8 from at least 20 schools (50 participants) were selected for painting competition. 
Bird Conservation, Nepal circulates a request letter to 30 public schools inviting their students to a painting competition. Out of 30 only 15 schools and 35 students of grade 4 to 9 participated in the painting competition.

11 May 2007
A group of volunteers visited different gardens and temples for bird feeding.

12 May 2007
A group of 85 students of 12 different schools, 20 teachers and 10 nature guides visited Godavari Garden and surrounding areas for birding. The whole group was divided into 6 smaller groups and went in different directions. Bird watching began at 7:00 am and lasted until 12:30 pm.
