Andrea Lansing, from Brooklyn, NY is an active birder in her dense
urban area. When most people hear "Brooklyn" they usually think of
hot asphalt streets, trucks, houses upon houses, and maybe smog. But
it isn't the case at all! Brooklyn is actually quite rich with
natural areas such as parks and beaches, and is home and rest stop to
a wide variety of birds throughout the year including: egrets,
herons, woodpeckers, all kinds of ducks, plus warblers, various
sparrows, and a lot more. In an effort to share the unique features
of this urban birding oasis with other birding enthusiasts, Andrea
began publishing a magazine related to her birding adventures,
photography, avian news, and research -- Local Birding Magazine
( www.localbirding.com).
