Cedar Waxwings Drinking Nectar

Kamila Miller of Washougal Washington sent us these photos of Cedar Waxwings drinking nectar from torch lillies in her backyard

I'm not sure if it's normal but I noticed two cedar waxwings drinking nectar from my torch lily (a.k.a. red hot poker).  The hummingbirds weren't thrilled to share their favorite plant.  :-)

We're fortunate to live on small acreage and have a wonderful variety of birds now that the bird garden is starting to get beyond the baby stages.  As you can see our bird garden is quite weedy at the moment. I don't really like it weedy but the birds sure do, so I'm not in a big hurry to make it more aesthetically pleasing to people.

Unfortunately the birds didn't let me get very close and I didn't have my tripod, so the pics aren't great but they're in focus at least.
