Citizen science is a way for you to learn about birds, science, and conservation by participating in real scientific studies. As a partnership between the public and professional scientists, we make up one of the world's largest research teams!
Who are we and what do we do?
We have been partnering with the public since the 1960s, and we tackle problems ranging from global climate change to avian disease.
How can I get involved?
We have projects for people at all levels. Join a citizen-science project. Choose your own level of involvement and a project that interests you.
What happens to the data I submit?
Data from citizen scientists across the globe are collected, permanently stored, and analyzed to learn more about bird populations and animal behavior.
Can groups and organizations participate?
Yes! Nature centers, schools, museums, community groups, and organizations everywhere partner with the citizen-science projects at the Lab of Ornithology to enrich their programs.
