Kate Haley Goldman

Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Learning Innovations

Kate Haley Goldman is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Learning Innovation.  Her work concentrates on furthering theory and practice of the use of technology in free-choice settings.  She is currently working on projects such as Science Now, Science Everywhere: SNSE and Astronomy from the Ground Up, which provides online professional development for ISE professionals.  Her current project portfolio includes researching and evaluating the use of websites, cell phones and augmented reality 

experiences for learning in museums and other informal environments. Recently, she was PI for the NSF-funded 'Designing the Classroom of Tomorrow by using Advanced Technologies to Connect Formal and Informal.' Among her writings are papers on motivation in online museum visits and website evaluation methodologies.

Citizen science, volunteer monitoring, participatory action research... this site supports organizers of all initiatives where public participants are involved in scientific research.
