Research Associate in the Bird Population Studies and Citizen Science programs at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology
![]() | Caren has a background in wildlife ecology and conservation (PhD,
Virginia Tech, MS Univ of Wyoming, BS North Carolina State Univ), with
field experience with a range of taxa including black bears, Puerto Rican
parrots, peregrine falcons, grasshoppers, Siberian polecats, tundra
swans, and brown treecreepers in Australia. At the Lab, Caren's
research addresses the questions for which our Citizen Science projects
have been designed to provide the necessary data to answer. Caren's
interest include the evolution of geographic variation in bird
reproduction and behavior as well as the ecology and conservation of
