Alycia Crall

Dr. Alycia W. Crall recently completed a PhD within the Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her dissertation research focused on the development and evaluation of a national citizen science program for invasive species. She received an award from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in 2007 for “Outstanding Achievements in Citizen-Based Monitoring” and the state of Wisconsin in 2010 as an “Invader Crusader” for her work. She currently works as a research associate for Colorado State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison while living in Charlottesville, VA. She continues to serve as the coordinator for the National Institute of Invasive Species Science (NIISS) citizen science program (www.citsci.org) and facilitates networking with local, state, and federal organizations to improve invasive species data collection and sharing among diverse stakeholders. Broad research interests include: citizen science; conservation biology; invasive species ecology; informal science education; and cyberinfrastructure/data management.
