Shelly Grow

As conservation biologist, Shelly helps AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums connect their ex situ work to in situ conservation by working closely with the AZA’s Taxon Advisory Groups, members, public awareness and education committees, and partner organizations. Shelly also chairs AZA’s Conservation Endowment Fund and manages AZA’s citizen science program, FrogWatch USA. Shelly fosters collaborations with other conservation networks and sits on the steering committees of Northeast Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation and the Butterfly Conservation Initiative.
 
Shelly received a B.A. in cross-cultural environmental studies from Grinnell College and a M.Sc. in sustainable development and conservation biology from the University of Maryland – College Park. Prior to working at AZA, Shelly worked on organic and sustainable agriculture research and policy with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Henry A. Wallace Center for Agriculture and the Environment at Winrock International.
