UPDATE 7 NOV 2013: Offer feedback on the redesign of

(From the news e-list, 7 NOV 2013. Interested in subscribing? Click here!)

Hello all,

Before I let you in on how excited I am about the new designs for (oops, did I already say I'm excited?!), let me first remind everyone about next week's discussion forum. Data policies (for privacy, liability, data use, and more) are an important safeguard for projects, but can be confusing to put in place. Anne Bowser and Lea Shanley from the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars will help sort through the puzzle, and can also respond to questions about DataONE's new data policy resources for citizen science. Look for an email on Monday, or go directly to

In the meantime, we are looking for a few folks to help provide feedback on page designs for the new website. I've been thrilled with the work of folks at Ideum as they learn this community and build us a beautiful site. They have put together some stellar page designs, based on several earlier rounds of user feedback. The ball is now in our court to help refine how specific details of design can best meet the needs of site users. I have some ideas, but want to make sure those ideas reflect yours.

Are you willing to take a look and share your thoughts? This is a quick turn-around process, where we will send out a single page for feedback by the end of the same day. You choose the day (between now and middle of next week), and we'll be in touch with a sneak peek of the new-site-in-progress, and just three quick questions for your response.

Interested? Click here to choose your day!

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts, on the site and in next week's discussion!
