How to approach choosing a question or issue for a project.
Keep volunteers in mind: |
- be familiar with the volunteers you are targeting
- choose a topic and question of interest to participants
- ask the community, "what is needed? what can we help with?"
Think ahead to protocols: |
- choose a question in conjunction with appropriate protocols
- know the abilities, interests, and limitations of your volunteers
If you have room for creativity: |
- "piggy-back" on existing projects
- be flexible, responsive, and opportunistic
