Discussions at the Citizen Science Toolkit Conference highlighted diverse understandings of citizen science (read a summary tiny PDF icon ). Nonetheless, we heard few critiques of a draft framework for guiding the development of citizen science projects (view the draft tiny PDF icon ).

As an organizing framework for Toolkit materials, we present this step-by-step approach to project development (below). Content within each step will be derived from multiple sources, one of the most valuable of which will be from all of you as experienced (and learning) members of this community.
