The American Goldfinch

The American Goldfinch's favorite foods are black oil sunflower seeds and sunflower hearts. The American Goldfinches feet are for climbing trees and to grab things. the female and the male American Goldfinches like high trees and make their nests in the high trees. They stay close by their babies.

The main habitat includes paths of thistle, weeds and open woods. The colors of the male are dark yellow in the summer and gray in the winter. The female is dull yellow in the summer and in the winter the female is gray, too. The beaks are for cracking seeds. It likes our orange juice carton feeder. It is a state bird. The states are Iowa, New Jersey, and Washington.
