Downy woodpeckers
Oh how I love them
With short sharp beaks
Not big, but 6 1/2 or 7 inches
Young eggs are white such a sight!

It's in the Woodpecker family
Oh how white on black spots look
HOw the feet in x's with claws
WooDpeckers so magnificent
People may think they're noisy but no
Eating bugs and suet
Chips off wood are in the nest
PecKing into trees.
Not Eating wood, just looking for food
Running up a tree!
