Of which I am fond.
Im about three feet in size
And have nice black eyes.

Ibis, Ibis
Hear them weep
Dont you know this
Water is too deep?
Shallow water
You do need
Run from the dirty water
And hide near the weed.
You found fresh water
And joined your flock
Be a good trotter
Dont go near the dock.
White Ibis, Glossy Ibis, and Scarlet too
All of you different in many ways
Ill be blue if someone kills you
So be careful when swimming in the bays.

Great Backyard Bird Count

The Great Backyard Bird Count was great fun for me and my family. It got us together
identifying birds; even my sister was in it. We had to use our best observation skills.
It's kind of hard to identify most birds in flight. You see spread out feathers; then when
it lands you see the actual size. I learned most raptors like to perch on high areas such
as telephone lines. I suppose they like to survey their territory. Some birds like Blue
Jays like to "chase away" other birds to get more feed from feeders. I think one
of the main purposes of this
assignment was to have fun and gather information for Cornell University.
