Moving Life Lists to the 6th Edition

checkmark.gifIf you have kept your life list as check marks next to bird names in the fifth edition of the Clements Checklist, you can move your list to the sixth edition via the Santa Barbara Software Products web site. You will find a list of all the fifth to sixth edition lumps, splits, and genus revisions, plus instructions for finding your way through the maze of name changes.

checkmark.gifThe information will also facilitate transcribing your life list to BirdBase and BirdArea, programs offered by Santa Barbara Software Products which are an excellent companion to the Clements book. The programs contain the common and scientific names of every order, family, genus, and species; detailed range information for every species; and, optionally, the name of every subspecies. They are used to record, then display data about the birds you have seen and also to produce checklists of the birds that can be viewed in all major faunal zones, American Birding Association reporting areas, nations, major islands, U.S. states, and Canadian provinces.
