Avian Art at the Lab of Ornithology

Avian artists of the last 150 years provided aesthetically pleasing and scientifically accurate images that enabled ornithologists and amateur birdwatchers to study birds merely by watching. Our art collection is another tool to increase interest in our mission of education, citizen science, and ultimately conservation, using the brushstrokes of Fuertes, Audubon, and others to illustrate the beauty of birds.
