HSC Scholarship Program Information

The Home Study Course in Bird Biology plays a vital role in the Lab’s education mission by helping to disseminate the fundamental scientific foundations of avian biology to the interested public, and to people who can apply such knowledge directly to their own professional development.
The HSC Scholarship program was formally initiated in 2004 by Dr. Jason A. Mobley (former HSC Instructor/Interim Director of Education) in order to help meet the growing demand for formal training in Ornithology that is not readily available to educators, researchers, and conservationists in many parts of the world. The primary goal of the program is to provide the Lab's Home Study Course to individuals who are actively engaged in bird/biodiversity conservation, research, and science education or related work that are challenged by access to funding for professional development activities.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is pleased to invite applications for the Home Study Course Scholarship Program. We anticipate that our Home Study Course scholarship recipients will acquire the essential knowledge necessary to make an important contribution to their professional efforts and further impact the development and awareness of the people that they work and interact with in their area of the world.
