Blue Jay "Kent"-Like Calls, New Jersey
Blue Jays utter "tooting" calls, as in this example from New
Jersey. Although the vocalizations on this recording do not closely
resemble the calls of Ivory-billed Woodpeckers, observers in Arkansas
have reported Blue Jays making a variant of this call that sounds more
like an ivory-bill. The research team will be trying to obtain more
Blue Jay recordings in Arkansas for analysis.
