Its 11:23 on Saturday June 24, I just saw one bird leave the nest and another at 11:27 is perched in the nestbox entry, ready to leave. I noticed people mentioned that some of the birds already fledged. Would they return to the nestbox at night to rest?

Yesterday, I noticed that they were spending a lot of time lined up behind the hole looking out. I haven't been able to see how well their feathers have come in, since it is always rather dark. Just curious.

Often there is competition for the box by E. Sparrows or Starlings. Is it simply the location of the box or have you taken other steps to keep the unwanted birds away?

every time I check in the past three days she has been off the nest! Is this normal behaviour for them? Is it super warm at the moment that she can leave for a prolonged period? Thanks

I'm very interested in these birds! The pictures of the nest are very dark and unclear, not giving alot of detail of nest construction and materials, etc. Can you sharpen the images, and enlarge them? I wish to know more of these birds, can someone help? Is there a org., for these birds? Gary-Romulus,Michigan

What do tree swallows make there nests from? What type of materials? Would it hurt to leave a pair of tree swallows to nest in a purple martin house? How can you tell the differences in the consruction of a house sparrow versus a tree swallow? Gary
